Destination Karjat

Another stint at the weekend . Stint as we kept planning to go but for some or the other reasons we kept missing out on the implementation. Decided with a firm belief and a watsapp group to keep the engagement on ...

 We shortlisted a couple of places once again .. The regular locations were ignored . Marve was shortlisted along with Karjat . Marve too close and not many options we decided upon Karjat , Mayur farms was the place in mind . We started with a group of 8 and ended up with few attrition to 6  . 

One of the colleagues came up with an idea of a farmhouse . A team member owned this place. though the photos looked spooky but it was worth a try as we anyway had our plans for the evening . Karjat it was !!! :

Karjat is a city, a Municipal Council, a Tahsil and a sub-district inRaigad district, Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra.Karjat is located at 18.91°N 73.33°E,^[1] and has a population of 2,17,363. It is located on Bhor ghat, Sahyadri,Western Ghats as well as at the end of coastal plains of Konkanregion near Deccan. It has an average elevation of 194 metres (636 ft). It lies on the banks of the River Ulhas.

 

Eventful day of travel :

We planned to start by 2.30 but then an engagement kept this to 4.30 and eventually we left by 5.30 on the 30th of Jan 2015 !!! One of us left early to make arrangements for the essentials !!! . We 5 sat in the king Innova with an excellent ride helmed by Tarun . Traveled through Airoli and old pune highway we bought chicken on the way . Picked up the last straw at Ghansoli and he didnt disappoint with all the essentials loaded ,We were happy to ride on . It was late evening and traffic bothered us but not for too long . We hit the highway, a rather toll- filled highway (Khargar Toll is an addition to already long list of tolls) :( . 

We reached the destination by 9pm . Looked spooky even so we were more excited to check the place of dwelling . Happy with the non interfering nature of the farmhouse caretakers family we proceeded to the top floor . It had a wooden swing pivoted on the top and a toilet which was Indianized Western .  A large dormitory like room in the centre and open terrace in the rear where we laid the beds to begin the event . All relaxed some made the bed kingly with pillows stuffed and the rest casual we all sat in the round as if were between a campfire !!!  Playing cards were called and soon the night begin to flow .. Teen patti was in full swing and the ones who werent well versed (like me ) werent left isolated infact were taken care of well . I infact was the mischievous one to keep asking the questions and take the seriousness away . But we all enjoyed this and soon the conversations kept building . Pakkodas (chicken) were served and that kept everyone glued . Finally a last call was made for the dinner . We eventually dinned by 11.45pm . Understanding that we werent very hungry . We soon gave that up and started with the card company ..  Night kept flowing untill i had to take a natures call !! On the return was astonished to find all packed and snugged in the beds . Tarun and i tried to wake them all but somewhere we knew that rest was needed so we also hit the sleeping pad @ 4.18 am  .

Next day morning @ 7.20 am , morning was beautiful and sun kissed as mother nature was in full form . slowly started to wake up everyone . Santosh who was suffering cold was a little better but he never let us feel he was too troubled by that . Very accommodating must say !!! Sunny was the only one to get up in installments . Mikky needed the morning tea to start his day . So Pohas were served along with Tea . To continue the final leg of Cards we went off to the market to get some snacks and change . Back to the farmhouse and DJ Santosh was at the helm with a mix of SP Balasubramanium and Kishore da !!! this was a peak with the winners pride . Mansoor decided to part away for the common cause . 

Soon we all were hungry and lunch was called upon . Feasted up like there was no tomorrow . At 3 we left the place with a lot of memories and untold facts kept strictly candid . The visit was worth a go with easy on pocket planning .
